Yoga 101 - FREE

Curious about yoga, but perhaps a bit intimidated? This two hour session is FREE to the public! Learn a bit about the history, philosophy, customs, styles and language of the practice; basic breathing exercises, foundational poses and modifications. Yoga is a powerful tool for stress relief, deeper spirituality and improved mental health. Plus, the physical benefits of stability and flexibility! Dress in comfortable clothes you can move in. Props and mats provided.

Alchemic Dance w/Secelie

Alchemic Dance is a somatic, sensual dance class for women who want to feel more at home in their bodies.

This is a hip and heart-led space that supports women in their full expression.

In class you’ll learn fun and accessible dance combinations inspired by hip-hop, house, club, and trending music while reconnecting with sensation, confidence, and creativity. 

This class is not about performing its about moving in a way that feels good in your body. We use movement to shake off the day and build trust with ourselves.

Along the way, you’ll get a great workout — using movement as a powerful outlet to release stress, emotion, and tension stored in the body.

The space is intentionally supportive and welcoming — a room of women committed to being safe, respectful, and encouraging of one another.

Ho'oponopono w/ Megan Lundahl

Ho'oponopono is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing based on a simple four-phrase mantra: "I'm sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you". The practice, in its modern form, focuses on taking responsibility for one's reality and using these phrases to cleanse negative energies, memories, and emotions from within oneself, regardless of who is "at fault" in a situation. Adapted by practitioner Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, and presented to Megan by Dr. Joe Vitale, the personal practice is an internal, self-healing process where you 'cleanse' your own memories and emotions that are being projected onto any situation. When you cleanse your consciousness, you contribute to the cleansing of the collective consciousness. In loving and forgiving ourselves, we, too, are setting ourselves free from standing in judgement of others. Megan offers this practice as informational, with journal prompts, gentle meditation and a short voluntary group discussion. No previous experience necessary!

Acrobatic Partner Yoga "Yoga of Trust" WORKSHOP

As yogis, we're always seeking ways to enrich our movement-based spiritual journey. While we often find guidance through traditional classes, there's another powerful path to explore—one that taps into creativity, connection, and trust: Acrobatic Partner Yoga.

This dynamic practice bridges the playful with the spiritual, inviting us to move intuitively, connect more deeply with ourselves, and build trust with others. In this two-hour introductory workshop, you'll experience Acrobatic Yoga, often called the "Yoga of Trust." No experience or partner is required—just bring your curiosity and an open heart.

We'll explore foundational acrobatic-inspired yoga postures and sequences, always with the support of spotters to ensure a safe and uplifting environment. Whether you come with a friend or solo, you'll leave with new insights, connections, and maybe even a little more play in your practice.

This Slow Flow Vinyasa series is designed to help you build a deeper connection to your practice by moving at an intentional, unhurried pace. Each week introduces philosophical themes, breath awareness, alignment, balance and restorative grounding allowing you to expand your practice step by step.

Through thoughtfully sequenced flows, gentle strength-building, and calming stretches, cultivate body awareness, improve mobility, and develop a sustainable rhythm that supports your well-being both on and off the mat. The slower tempo encourages presence, making this series ideal for newer practitioners, those returning to yoga, or anyone seeking a meditative, supportive vinyasa experience.

Sun Salutation Vibration - SPECIAL EVENT

Join The Yoga Womb for 108 Sun Salutations to honor the sun and raise money for The Yoga Womb at sunrise on Summer Solstice in Sunset Park. Sun Salutation, also called Surya Namaskar or Salute to the Sun, incorporates a flow sequence of some twelve linked asanas. The focus is on your breath creating a meditation in motion in honor of the Sun. When practiced in harmony with other yogis, the vibration is palpable! The number 108 is considered sacred in many cultures and religions. 108 is often used in practices like sun salutations and chanting mantras, as it's believed to represent completion and connection to the universe. Some interpretations link 108 to cosmic energy and divine connection, particularly in relation to the sun, moon, and Earth. The Yoga Womb, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to improve the overall wellness of our community, and the world by making holistic mind, body and spirit wellness services and education available to everyone.

YOKE

In Sanskrit, the word "yoga" is derived from the root "yuj," which means "to yoke" or "to unite". This "yoking" refers to uniting the mind, body, and spirit, and finding a sense of connection and balance. This is the little half hour window between a class an an experience where we will serve up some tea and granola bars, give you time to chat, make new connections, pull cards, journal, or whatever helps you unite your practice. That may be building community, integrating your inner world or practicing spirituality. Yoga is a lifestyle, not just a workout. This is totally free and does not require registration - though it would be nice to know if we should expect you. :)

Soul Powered Sobriety Circle w/Ally

Have you ever asked yourself if changing your relationship to substances might improve your life? Or perhaps you are passionately sober and desire a fresh chapter for your healing journey - something you haven’t tried before.

This is a group class for those that are sober or are desiring to transform their relationship to substances but may or may not know what that looks like for them yet. We will practice embodiment, meditation, and facilitate an integration healing circle pertaining to a weekly theme which will support you on your sobriety journey.

Heart Centered Guided Imagery + Sound Bath

Relax with Guided Imagery & Sound in Shavasana (laying down) complete with crystal singing bowls and other sound instrumentation. Open, release, and IGNITE the fire in your heart. Dress in comfy attire, bring water and journal. Guided Imagery is a form of ‘active’ voice led meditation that often allows one to transport through time and space to alternate realms of thought, sensation, and experience. Avoid caffeine or heavy meals at least three hours prior. Goal: To float you home to bed beaming!

Reiki shares serve as a powerful combination of healing practice and community support, creating opportunities for individuals to experience energy work in a collective and uplifting environment. Collectively we take turns offering individuals energy healing in a group setting, either by placing hands lightly on participants or working in the energy field. The healing energy exchanged in these circles can promote relaxation, relieve stress, & encourage emotional healing. No experience required.

Winter Solstice Restorative Yoga and Sound Bath SPECIAL EVENT

During the winter we are invited to tend to our inner world as the harsher elements call us indoors. And undercover, asking that we rest.

Winter Solstice marks the longest night and shortest day of the year. A time of hibernation and healing. During this sound bath, Rebecca Sheesley and Beth Stracka use the frequency of sound, restorative yoga poses and gentle breathwork to guide you into a rested state. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Deep Stretch is a fantastic class for injury prevention and/or recovery! This class will focus on active flexibility, dive deep into passive vs. active range of motion and will target to release the major muscle groups of the body. Somatics w/Lynn

Somatic movement is a practice of self observation and the strengthening of the bond between the brain and the nervous system, this allows the muscles of the body to respond in kind by loosening the body’s habitual patterns of stress or injury either realized or revealed.

By exploring habitual restrictive patterns, fellow students can discover a path to greater ease of movement and reduced pain. Ultimately, somatic practice helps to maintain or create the body’s existential fluidity.

This all-levels class will turn up a little heat and combine big movements with deep twists to detoxify energetically and physically. Lots of modifications will make this class accessible to new yogis while advanced yogis will have options to challenge themselves. Once a month Jett will have fun guiding your kids through a playful yoga experience and art project. Kids get moving, play games and experience guided meditation. Getting introduced to these tools can help kids with body awareness, emotional regulation and a more conscious way of being in the world.

Power Vinyasa w/Shawndra

Power Vinyasa is a great full body workout that uses your own body weight to strengthen. This class will include fitness-based workouts, opportunity to play/invert or arm balance, and will move breath to movement throughout. Students can expect to move quickly, build heat, play with challenging transitions/postures, and enjoy a fun and unique sequence each time. Be ready to break a sweat!

Chair Yoga w/Nina (Level 1)

Chair Yoga is a Slow Flow style practice that is done with use of a chair! The chair is the primary prop: we sit on it, stand behind it, use the chair for support, and sometimes will even lie below it. Calling all curious/adventurous yogis who want to try something different! This class is a great way to explore this beautiful practice and beyond with a solid support structure along for the ride for stability, lift, and depth.

Deep Stretch w/Shawndra

Deep Stretch is a fantastic class for injury prevention and/or recovery! This class will focus on active flexibility, dive deep into passive vs. active range of motion and will target to release the major muscle groups of the body. Students can expect a predominately floor based flow with opportunity for longer holds throughout class. This is a great class to supplement your pre-existing workout routine and help you recover from the day!

Hatha Yoga w/Brooke (Level 2)

Brooke teaches a traditional alignment-based class with an emphasis on breath work. Her classes blend physical and mental challenges with meditation and philosophy. She offers options to customize your practice by finding ease or accepting challenges based on your unique journey and how you feel today. Explore the depth of different poses, improve balance and increase flexibility physically and mentally. Her goal: leave you feeling better than you did before you found her.

Vinyasa w/Ashley (Level 2)

Vinyasa Flow is an all level class with postures linked together by breath. Directions for increasing or decreasing the level of difficulty are provided for students to decide the best posture for themselves within that moment. Help build both strength and flexibility to balance the body. Breath control is emphasized throughout. As we flow through poses, each movement builds heat in the body to prepare for restorative stretches and final relaxation.

Our Gentle Flow class offers the best of both worlds. Active, yet grounding sun salutations and standing flows are offered in the first half of class to enliven the body and chase away any fatigue. A meditative practice using passive, long-held floor poses. Yin Yoga bypasses the muscles and allows you to nourish and strengthen the deeper tissues. The poses are held between 2-5 minutes and the muscles stay passive. Each yin pose is an opportunity to go inward and find appropriate balance of effort and ease. It is a wonderful complement to an active Yang practice and a much needed tool for anyone who needs to unwind. Yin is suitable for everyone.

A transformational evening retreat at the Yoga Womb!

Submerge the depths of your own mind through an Ayurvedic lens in this special one-night gathering with Ally Schmidt and Katrina Chaudoir of the Yoga Womb (both Trauma Informed).

Learn about the three gunas - Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas - the three primal qualities of nature that underlie us and all things of the universe. Apply them to your own lived experience and the state of your mind.

Whether your current mental experience mirrors that of the calm surface of a clear, still lake (Sattva), the turbulent nature of active, unkept waves (Rajas), or the dark, shadowed bottom where nothing can be reflected in its pure truth (Tamas), this retreat is for you.

While this retreat will be deeply healing and relaxing, it will also be alchemizing. Alchemy is not for the faint of heart. You will be encouraged to be very honest with yourself about what is unveiled from the depths of your being without turning away from it.

Even in the darkest of times, a faint spark of light at the murky bottom is all the wisdom needed to bring you back up to the calm surface where the once-hidden parts of you are uncovered, free to feel, and reflected with ease and you mark yourself in alignment with Truth.

We will embody the three gunas with asana practice, breathwork, and meditation with Ally as your guide. You will feel these qualities of nature in multiple layers (koshas) of your being. Katrina will facilitate you through a therapeutic light session to work with the spark of light you may experience (see additional information below). The biggest piece to all of this is the work of integration. What will you do with what you find? A circle share for integration is your first step into bringing your new knowledge off the mat and into your life.
